South Shop Diesel LLC is hiring an experienced Service Technician / Mechanic for our independent repair shop. We service diesel trucks, heavy and farm equipment, fleet vehicles, generators, and personal vehicles Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with a 1-hour lunch; no weekends; and plenty of overtime opportunities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, and emissions (DPF/DEF/SCR)
• Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and computer diagnostics
• Service drivetrain, transmission, brake, steering, suspension, and cooling systems
• Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections
• Accurately document repairs, parts, and labor findings
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections
• Read and interpret service information, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Accurately document diagnostic findings, repairs, parts, labor, and recommendations.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

• 3+ years of hands-on professional mechanical experience (diesel preferred)
• Strong diagnostic, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting abilities
• Experience working on diesel-powered equipment
• Ability to work independently, use diagnostic scanners, and read schematics
• Own basic hand tools and possess a valid driver's license
• Ability to communicate clearly with the service/office team
• Dependable attendance and punctuality

Strongly Preferred:

Experience with major platforms (Cummins, PACCAR, Detroit, Ford, GM, Ram, etc.)
