Salary: $72,000 - 112,000 per year Requirements: We are looking for a BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. We require 5+ years of experience writing software code for embedded systems; aviation systems control is a plus. We need strong software development capability in C/C++. Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and integration with external hardware devices such as EEPROM, FPGA, and ASIC is a plus. Experience with semi-autonomous and autonomous systems is a plus. Familiarity with communication protocols such as I2C, UART, USB, and MIPI is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required. Hands-on experience with system integration and testing is required. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are required. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work with customers, suppliers, and other external stakeholders are required. Applicants must be a U.S. person under ITAR. Responsibilities: We develop, implement, debug, and test software for unmanned systems, subsystems, and test platforms used in defense applications. We create new product concepts from initial idea through research and development into production. We collaborate in a fast-moving, multi-disciplinary environment with mechanical, electrical, systems, program management, suppliers, and customers. We write new software code and apply software configuration and quality practices. We develop, configure, and install flight and ground control software for multiple small aviation and ground platforms. We help select microprocessors, microcontrollers, and supporting components such as memory type and size. We work with electrical engineering to debug and resolve complex electronic and software issues. We build test infrastructure, prepare documentation, and help ensure high performance. We apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges. We may travel within the U.S. occasionally to support product testing or design reviews.
